Question and Answer with Dennis Warner

(#3 of 14)

Q: "Did you go to college?  If so, what did you major in?"

DW:  I went my first year of college to Bemidj State University in Bemidji, Minnesota. The locals say, “Burrrrr - midji” because of it’s location in northern Minnesota. It was cold, but a great experience. I studied voice with Paul Brandvik, a legend in choir instruction in the midwest, and played the cello (first started in
5th grade) under Pat Riley. A side note is that it was a thrill for me having Pat
play cello on the “MY WORLD” cd many years ago.

After Bemidji State, I transferred to St. Cloud State where I finished up with a
minor in vocal performance and a major in Philosophy. Most of my time in
college was spent with the University Program Board, booking concerts for the college while learning the business end of music.
